New major shareholder at Lübcke Marine Assekuranzmakler

Imperial Logistics subsidiary Regent Insurance Brokers now holds the majority share of Lübcke Marine Assekuranzmakler GmbH

The Regent Insurance Brokers (Europe) GmbH, headquartered in Bremen, is the new majority shareholder of Lübcke Marine Assekuranzmakler GmbH (Bremen) since the beginning of the year. The subsidiary of Imperial Logistics International BV & Co. KG acquired 51 per cent of the shares from Dr. Schmidt & Erdsiek KG (Minden/Westphalia), which is still involved as a shareholder with 49 per cent of Lübcke Marine. The activities of Lübcke Marine Assekuranzmakler will still be managed by the former managing director Holger Warrelmann. He receives support from Stefan Rogge, who recently joined the management team.

With a team of experienced sailors and insurance traders at locations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland Lübcke Marine Assekuranzmakler is specialising on the provision of maritime insurance and works for all major carriers. "The acquisition is part of our ongoing growth strategy", said Regents Executive Director Stefan Rogge. He sees a good development potential in the business of insurance against shipping risks, which fits perfectly into the existing range of services as an insurance broker for inland waterway transport.

Regent also offers comprehensive insurance solutions for the transportation and logistics industry. For further growth, the company wants to focus more on services that complement the risk consulting and insurance coverage. These include claims handling and repair management and safety consulting.
