Metrans: New train to and from Malaszewicze

The intermodal operator Metrans is about to introduce a new roundtrip service. The direct service between Malaszewicze (PL) and Ceska Trebova (CZ) is to start with 10th March 2019. The regular service connects Belt and Road trains (or trains from/to CIS) to the Metrans network.

This new intermodal transport offers significant time and costs savings in comparison to other services and was a CO2 efficient alternative to the truck services, according to Metrans. The new service will start with two roundtrips a week. Via Ceska Trebova they will offer services to all terminals within the Metrans network, including connections to Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Duisburg, Koper, etc.

HHLA’s subsidiary Metrans provides highly frequent rail connections from the seaports on the North Sea and the Adriatic. The company is the market leader for seaport-hinterland container traffic with Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. The company’s own inland terminals, special locomotives and environmentally friendly container wagons enable flexible, high-quality services.
