Merger of Raabersped and Express-Interfracht
Raabersped strengthens position of Express-Interfracht in CEE In the last few weeks Raabersped GmbH has set the course for important changes. Since July 2009 Rail Cargo Austria (RCA) is the sole owner of the Austro-Hungarian company. As of 1 October it is integrated into the RCA-subsidiary Express-Interfracht. “By integrating Raabersped we have an important strategic partner on board now. Express-Interfracht thereby consolidates its position as one of the most important forwarding companies in central and south-eastern Europe“, announces KR Friedrich Macher, CEO of Rail Cargo Austria AG. 20 years ago Raabersped – under the control of Raaberbahn (GYSEV) at that time – opened a location in Vienna. After being privatised in 2001 the enterprise, in which Rail Cargo Austria took a holding, moved on top of the forwarding companies in Southeastern Europe. According to a RCA press-release “the merger of Raabersped and Express-Interfracht gives this success story a continuation and at the same time strengthens the strategic and operating positions of both companies“. Express-Interfracht will take over all employees from Raabersped.
