Hannover Finanz acquires the lion’s share of Mackprang Holding

Parent company of Unisped Logistik GmbH (Hamburg) has a new majority shareholder
 
The Hamburg-based family enterprise Mackprang has a new majority shareholder on board to strengthen its own equity capital. The Hannover Finanz group takes over 56 per cent of the shares of Mackprang Holding GmbH & Co. KG, the parent company of the Schlemmer group and several logistics companies. They agreed to keep the price confidential. Hannover Finanz sees goods growth opportunities for the logistics area and for Schlemmer, a specialist for cable connections and protection systems as well as special parts, employing 1,700 persons in 34 countries around the globe.
 
Mackprang has its roots in a trading company for agricultural raw material that was founded in 1878. In 1963 the Hamburg-based family company acquired a holding in the Schlemmer GmbH and took it completely over in 1979. In the 1980ies and 90ies Mackprang expanded its activities by establishing the logistics companies Süderelbe Logistik GmbH, CM Eurologistik GmbH and UNISPED Logistik GmbH. The core issues are contract logistics, importations and exportations and miscellaneous forwarding services. Both divisions are affiliated to the Mackprang Holding GmbH & Co. KG, which is now mainly held by the Hannover Finanz group. The original trading company C. Mackprang jr. GmbH & Co.KG will continue trade with agricultural raw materials as a completely independent provider under the previous companies.
