GO! Austria now transports also live animals

GO! Austria is the first provider of express and courier services to be authorised for animal transport in Austria and from/to Germany

As Austria’s first provider of express and courier services the national branch GO! Austria was recently authorised to transport live animals in Austria and from/to Germany. The partners of GO! Austria have received the relevant documents from the authorities, and are hence authorised to carry out transports of live animals. All GO!-employees of order receipt, customer consultance, distribution, handling  and courier drivers have been trained therefore.

„We are delighted that we have managed to obtain approval and that we are now able to deliver the best service in animal shipping to our customers, taking into account all legal requirements,“ says Holger Meyer, head of operations and quality management at GO! Austria.

The packaging for the shipment of the little creatures are particularly important and regulated by IATA Live Animals Regulations (IATA LAR). For each species, there are specifications regarding appropriate packaging that is shock and escape-proof and has adequate ventilation and protection from the weather, which has to be followed by the consignor.

„All transport containers shall be marked with appropriate, clearly readable and visible, bilingual stickers and arrows. So a butterfly arrives alive and well at the breeder as well as the noble Koi at pond specialists. GO! ensures very short delivery times – in overnight shipment from Monday to Thursday“, the CEP service provider announced in a press release.

GO! Express & Logistics is Germany’s largest independent provider of express and courier services. The global partner network was founded in 1984 and currently includes over 100 GO! stations in Germany and Europe. Employees and couriers ensure the transport of some four million shipments each year.

In keeping with its corporate philosophy IT’S ALL ABOUT TIME, GO! provides a regional courier and global express shipping service of goods, documents and particularly time-critical shipments round the clock, 365 days a year. Customised supply chain solutions, industry-specific solutions and special services in response to complex customer requirements also form part of the portfolio.
