Benjamin Schatzl new Gebrüder Weiss Product Manager Seafreight in Shanghai to boost business relations in Asia
 
Gebrüder Weiss announces the appointment of Benjamin Schatzl as the new Product Manager Seafreight in Shanghai. According to the Austrian transport and logistics company the long-term logistics expert will be responsible for the service portfolio in the Asia-Pacific region. Schatzl, who was born in Austria, reports to Vojislav Jevtic, Global Product Manager Seafreight. Benjamin Schatzl has over 15 years of international experience in the logistics industry. Among other things, he was holding management positions in the field of key accounting and sea freight in Hong Kong, Singapore and Shanghai. 
 
With this appointment, Gebrüder Weiss is intensifying its proximity to the Asian market. The aim is to develop the specialised market expertise locally. “From Shanghai, we want to strengthen our relations with Asian shipping companies and respond to the rapidly growing customer demand for logistics solutions in Asia,” explains Jevtic. One of Schatzl’s main tasks will be the expansion of activities in the intra-Asia market.
 
“We are increasingly required to provide specialised solutions in Asia, because the consumer market there is developing rapidly,” says Jevtic. Moreover Gebrüder Weiss was having many customers in Europe, who sell their goods to North and South America, Africa and Oceania, with production taking place in Asia. Following this tendency, the company, besides constructing local sites, is also building up its expert know-how in the Far East. Gebrüder Weiss is active in the Chinese market in cooperation with Röhlig Logistics. Today, Weiss-Röhlig is operating 17 locations in China.
