Expanded FedEx Express hub in Paris CDG

Paris Charles de Gaulle: 10 years European FedEx Express hub
 
Opened 10 years ago at the international airport Paris Roissy-Charles de Gaulle, the European hub of FedEx Express has recently been expanded. Last week the new complex, which had been constructed in the past months, was inaugurated in a ceremony. FedEx Express and Aeroports de Paris have invested USD 158 million into the expansion in total.

This investment enlarged the sorting area from 49,600 sq.m. to 72,000 sq.m.. The freight and dangerous goods area was substantially built up from 1,400 sq.m. to 13,000 sq.m.. The sorting capacity was increased from 54,000 to 61,500 documents and parcels per hour. FedEx employs 2,600 persons at the Parisian hub who handle around 300 flights per week. The expanded facility is the company’s largest hub outside the United States.
