DST möbel mobil starts logistics hub with reference to Austria

New DST möbel mobil location serves also as hub for transportations to/from Austria
 
On 1 March DST möbel mobil, a Swiss furniture forwarder, started operating a logistics facility in Karlsfeld. The hall at the north-west end of Munich serves as a handling facility for furniture transportations within the European Union, as well as between Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and as EU export warehouse for Swiss manufacturers and retailers of furniture.
 
The logistics facility in Karlsfeld is situated close to the motorways A8 and A99. It encompasses an office bulding, accomodations for drivers and 2000 m2 covered warehouse area (height of the hall: 8.5 metres) with twelve platforms, six of them for distribution vehicles. The neighbouring free area provides space for containers and swap bodies. 
 
Moreover the premises can be expanded by open or covered warehouses. The height of the logistics hall is 8.5 m for shelving and block storage.
 
At the new location in Karlsfeld DST will offer distribution transport with two-men teams for manufacturers and retail in the premium segment in Greater Munich.  We elaborated a cost-efficient system for this segment, which has proved in the high-price country Switzerland. We have received the first demands from Munich retailers , says Christine Gr bl, managing director DST möbel mobil.
 
DST private delivery is complemented by date logistics as well as full and groupage cargo transport between Germany and Austria, and Switzerland. DST is already transporting high-value furniture from Austria and Germany to Switzerland on a regular basis. EU-internal transportations have not been possible so far.
 
DST möbel mobil headquartered in Rekingen counts among the leading furniture forwarders in Switzerland. The company offers European and national land transport, warehousing as well as value-added services such as quality control, order-picking, palletising, packing, labelling and price labelling. The service portfolio comprises also assembly of furniture (also in private households), customs clearance (own customs agencies in Koblenz and Waldshut-Tiengen), procurement logistics, trade fair mounting and relocation services. DST möbel mobil has a fleet of 30 vehicles (3.5   40 t), 60 swap bodies and 40 trailers. Moreover the company operates 3,500 m2 warehousing area in Rekingen and now also 2,000 m2 in Karlsfeld (near Munich).
