DB Schenker celebrates sporting success

At national and individual level company supports sport

DB Schenker in Ireland is maintaining its strong links with support for local sports. Eagle-eyed viewers to national television last week in Ireland – and further afield – may have spotted that when Robbie Keane scored his penalty and then the diving header which clinched the World Cup Qualifier match against the Georgians 2-1, the advertising hording behind the goal bore the DB Schenker logo.

On an individual level the company has been supporting long distance and marathon runner, Tom Enright who works at the DB Schenker Shannon office. He regularly competes in marathons and trains 5-6 days a week. His most recent outing was the Florence marathon where he was one of 9,000 competitors and which he completed in 3 hours 44 mins. 2009 has brought renewed energy to his training and Tom’s next race is the Connemara ultra-marathon – the only on-road ultra race held in Ireland – a 39 mile epic on March 22nd.
