DB Schenker bundles rail transports

New umbrella brand for rail logistic services at DB Schenker

„The new structure is our response to the increasing pressure of consolidation within the European competition. The efficient use of resources provides more flexibility and attractive service packages to clients. The focus of the new management lies in improving the networking of the traffics“, said Dr. Norbert Bensel, Head of the DB Schenker and Board Member of the DB Mobility Logistics AG, responsible for Transport and Logistics.

DB Schenker Rail has 36,000 employees and operates about 120,000 cargo wagons and 3,900 locomotives. The business unit comprises the regionally structured divisions West, Central and East, and the region-spanning divisions Automotive and Intermodal. West comprises mainly Great Britain, France, Spain and Portugal. Central is in charge of Middle Europe – Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Denmark and Sweden. The East segment takes care for rail freight activities in Eastern Europe – including Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia and Belarus.
