Baxter named Nottingham’s fastest grower

Baxter Freight has been named the fastest growing mid-sized company in Nottinghamshire in BDO’s Nottinghamshire Growth Barometer list which measures turnover growth of mid-sized firms in the county.

Baxter Freight was set up in 2014 by Ian Baxter, Peter Isler and Steve Rafferty and now employs 60 people.

Chairman Ian Baxter said: “We literally started in my living room with nothing. We had no people, no computers, no premises, no customers and no suppliers. It’s not easy to bring a business out of the ground overnight – as well as building up our suite of products we needed to get out there to find people who needed our services.”

Turnover is expected to increase from £13 million to £18 million this year.
