ANA Aviation Services returns to Ireland

After an absence of five years, ANA Aviation Services will return to the Irish air cargo industry with the opening of a new GSA office in Dublin under the NAS brand.

The company will manage the air cargo activities of nine carriers, including Aerolineas Argentineas, Allied Air, Astral Aviation, Bangladesh Biman and Yemenia, offering a range of destinations in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and Latin America.

Despite the current economic woes faced by the country, Andy King, MD of NAS Ireland, believes that the time is right to enter the Irish GSA market. Airfreight volumes continue to be strong and inward investment, attracted by lower tax rates, together with the fall in value of the Euro has given the export business sector impetus.

The decision to return to the Irish market was partially driven by the growth in capacity offered by all-cargo carrier Allied Air, which now operates three MD11 freighters to eighteen destinations in Africa, as well as the high level of interest for South America.

The new office in Ireland continues the group’s expansion, which included the opening of offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Miami and Washington this year.
