M+R Spedag expands its operating range to India
Swiss logistics group M+R Spedag integrates Indian PL Shipping & Logistics Pvt. Ltd in its international network In a press release the M+R Spedag group and PL Shipping & Logistics Pvt. Ltd announced their merger with effect from the beginning of September 2010. This strategic acquisition helps the M+R Spedag group to position itself in the fast-growing market in India and its creates synergies for both companies. "In the frame of our growth strategy that is focussing on Eastern Asia, the expansion of our network in India has priority", says Daniel Richner, owner of the M+R Spedag group. After the integration PL Shipping & Logistics Pvt. Ltd. was striving for, Ramkumar Ramachandran, the founder of the company, will continue as Managing Director. There will be no changes in the organizational structure. M + R Spedag group was established in 1952. The international logistics enterprise has its headquarters in Switzerland. The group employs more than 1,250 persons in 60 locations around the globe. The annual turnover amounts to approximately CHF 480 million. PL Shipping & Logistics Pvt.
