Poland: Odra Trans withdraws from Lehnkering Logistik

Lehnkering Steel Logistics enhances commitment in Poland

Lehnkering Steel Transport und Services GmbH (Duisburg) expands its operations in Poland. Taking over 100 per cent of the shares of Lehnkering Logistik Sp.z o.o. the enterprise responds to the positive development of the local market.

In 2005 Lehnkering (80%) and Odra Trans (20%) set up the subsidiary in Miekinia (Wroclaw/Breslau). It formed the basis for the development of the enterprise in the Polish logistics market and plays an important role in handling the growing amount of transportations to eastern Europe.

Manfred Hunold, Manager of Lehnkering Steel Transport & Services says “The developments in Lehnkering’s steel business in Poland are more dynamic than we had forecasted the past. The iron and steel traffic between Germany and Poland is increasing all the time – and we are now guaranteeing the best possible use of our freight forwarding network by fully taking over Lehnkering Logistik Sp. z o.o.”

Lehnkering Logistik Sp. z o.o employs 64 persons and has a fleet of 39 long-distance vehicles. Along with transport activities the enterprise assumes also national and international logistics and forwarding operations.
